Lindsay Snyder is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersections of human relationships, evolution, and natural phenomena. Working across watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, and pastel, she creates both architectural compositions and abstract paintings that balance structure with expressive freedom.

Drawing inspiration from science, politics, color theory, and pop culture, Snyder’s work reflects a dynamic dialogue between the built environment and organic experience. Her visual language is further influenced by architectural design and art movements such as Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, as well as artists like Georgia O’Keeffe and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Travel has played a significant role in shaping her perspective, with places like Miami, Costa Rica, Paris, and New Mexico informing her sense of color, space, and atmosphere.

Snyder studied architecture and interior design at Pratt Institute before returning to the Farmington Valley, where her artistic journey began at the Farmington Valley Arts Center. There, she developed her practice, connected with a community of local artists, and was selected for an Artist in Residence program. During her six-month residency, she created a cohesive body of work and presented her portfolio in a solo exhibition.

Through her multidisciplinary approach, Snyder continues to explore the relationship between structure and fluidity, inviting viewers to engage with both the physical and emotional landscapes within her work.
